UPDATE: AS OF MARCH  16th, 2020 The Mindfulness Center IS NOT PROVIDING IN-PERSON SERVICES  to support the mental health needs of our campus community while mitigating COVID-19 risks in our department.  Therefore, relaxation chairs are not available for use. 

Our mission

Drop-in Mindfulness Sessions


Drop-in for a FREE facilitated 30-minute meditation session starting June 8, 2022. 

Tuesdays  @ 10:30 AM

Wednesdays @ 1:00 PM & 3:30 PM

Thursdays @ 3:30 PM

NO registration required, just join our zoom meeting.  Participants can attend as many times as they like so long as they are a student, faculty, or staff of the U. See our flyer for more information about how to join.

Drop-in meditation sessions are led by a rotating group of facilitators who are staff of the University Counseling Center.  Sessions are not conducted during semester breaks or university holidays.

For Students, Faculty and Staff

 Thursdays, from 4 PM - 5PM, 6/23 - 7/14

 This is a supportive workshop for the campus community offered in collaboration with the Center for Student Wellness, and is designed to strengthen participants with skills to manage the impacts of difficult events. This workshop aims to provide an accessible space for campus members as a first step before accessing longer-term supportive services or as a refresher for folx who may want to increase their supportive resources.

Campus members who are in active crisis are encouraged to utilize the UCC’s Crisis Services or other campus crisis resources.

All participants must register bit.ly/TraumaTriage, and it is encouraged that participants begin at Week 1.

Learning how to cope with anxiety & depression (FREE)

Register for a Workshop 

This is a FREE 4-week workshop is offered by zoom meeting (invitation provided after registration). It is for U students, staff, and faculty.

The series schedule is as follows, excluding holidays and breaks. 

  • Series 1: Wednesdays from 1 PM - 2 PM, 5/18 - 6/8
  • Series 2: Thursdays from 1 PM - 2 PM, 5/26 - 6/16
  • Series 3: Tuesdays from 11 AM - 12 PM,  6/7 - 6/28
  • Series 4: Wednesdays from 1 PM - 2 PM, 6/15 - 7/6
  • Series 5: Wednesdays from 1 PM - 2 PM, 7/13 - 8/3

Unless otherwise specified, this workshop series includes a set of 4 modules that are covered over the course of 4 weeks.  We recommend that participants start attending the workshop at module 1, but the modules may be attended in any order, and may be repeated.  Participants will learn a variety of effective and practical skills they can use to cope with stress, anxiety, and depression as well as the distress of these challenging times.  See our flyer for more information about the content and the dates/times of each workshop.

This is a FREE 4-week virtual workshop series that teaches strategies to help develop or strengthen resiliency, focusing on emotional intelligence, stress management, and radical self-love.

 Series 1: Thursdays from 1 PM - 2PM, 5/26 - 6/16

 Series 2: Thursdays from 1 PM - 2PM, 7/7 - 7/28

Mental Coaching for Success


For neurodiverse students

Tuesdays, 3 PM - 4:30 PM, 6/28 - 7/19

This FREE workshop for undergraduate and graduate students is designed to help students gain practical skills to help with planning, organization, time management, focus, and avoiding procrastination. This workshop meets for 4 weeks, and it is highly recommended that participants start at module one, if possible.  However, participants can join at any time and may repeat the series, as desired. Mindful Work/Life Balance


 

    Wednesdays, 1 PM - 2 PM, 6/1 - 6/22

This FREE 4-week workshop is offered by zoom meeting (invitation provided after registration) for U faculty, staff, and graduate students.  The workshop is designed to introduce participants to mindful strategies for balancing work-life stress.  Come learn effective coping tools for navigating the responsibilities of different life roles as well as techniques for managing stress and anxiety.
